Connections: Joining Party 2011.

It was a Thursday, 20th January, 2011 that I made some very "great" and "new" connections with a lot of people in our Molecular and Human Genetics Group, IICB. Timeless gains with a token of welcome handed over to us by the emminent faculties within the aegis of the Group, namely, Kunal Sir, Keya Madam, Susanta Sir and Ashok Sir. An abstract of the whole program is sketched within the non-intellectual reaches of the blog.

Background: Socials are interesting part of the human community. It makes people know each other and exchange thoughts, made public or shared over a glass of drink (mock or cock), coffee and very appreciatively over a cup of tea. Ideas flow as well as the music, which occasionally brings out the steps that enthusiastically occupy the floor. Socials of these kind is called as a party. The main objective of this program was to toast the mocktail in the name of the newly joined juniors (2009-2010), under the banner of Molecular and Human Genetics Division, IICB.

Materials and Methods: The party was a whole hearted effort of the juniors as well as seniors. The overall consortium was executed in the right spirit. Even though the juniors, namely Kayum, Abhisek, Sangita, Shruti Di, Niladri, Rajeswari, Chetan and myself, supported by Nandana and Debmita, had no clue as to what can be performed, 24 hours into the the inauguration of the program; it was a team effort to come up with an array of programs that had the art engrossed with fun and interactive participation with the audience. The seniors, on the other hand had to extract their frolic through a series of activities specially designed to meet the desired result. i.e to laugh!

The program by the juniors had a Dance (by Nandana), Rabindra Sangeet (Rituparna Di and Subhadeep Da, in association with Arindam on guitar), Mimicry (by Kayum), Shruti Natya (by all the Juniors, exclusively and Arindam) and Kao Quiz. This array of program, especially the Shruti Natya was amicably rehearsed in 6 hours, from the morning of that day. The seniors were too meticulous with the tasks, turning the samples into Romantoc Couples in Metro Station (Shruti Di and Kayum), Transfecting the Deepika-Madhuri-Urmila plasmid in one (Abhisek), Sequencing Sholay using Niladri, Chetan and Rajeswari, Sonicating Sangita to the tunes of Sheila ki Jawani and tagging me with the Challenge Fluorophore.

Results: The overall results showed 36 enamel clad teeth out in every bodies' lips. The hands swayed to the tunes and so were the legs.

Conclusion: The 36 enamel re-affirms the enjoyment delivered by all the subjects concerned and participated, on the floor of Restaurant on the First Floor, 50/1B Purnadas Road, near Golpark, Kolkata. The food satisfied the palate. The movement of the hands and legs also co-relates with the fact that it was directly proportional to the degree of enjoyment. In this case all the subjects showed a synchronized pattern, proving that there is no significant difference in the enjoyment delivered at the party.
