Apologies n Thoughts...

Since my re-incarnation in the field of Biology as a potent researcher, self-timed life has really been hard to come by. Leave aside the time to read the news paper, sometimes, eating a small apple by the window of the Institutes corridor seems an hour wasted! Its time to learn the techniques and explain the technicalities. I apologize to the people who have been feeling neglected via this blog portal.

Today, at 12:45PM, I sit alone in this room, trying to figure out the members and the participants in the AICCG [All India Congress of Cytology and Genetics], that involves a 4 day long conference with lot of activities and a grand workshop. Please refer to the website: http://aiccg1.110mb.com/aiccgwebsite/index.htm although, the registration is over for the year. I am proud to participate in this and am eagerly looking forward to some of the great thinkers in the field.

Yesterday one of my Lab-mate, Dr. Pritha Ghosh had forwarded me a mail that is really horrendous to know and also understand that we are a civilized human being. I PROTEST to the act. Please look forward to the pictures and get a pictographic understanding or the explanation is mentioned, following the galore of the pics.

This picture is from Denmark. The Sea is red not because of the Red Corals... but its something else. Please refer the next picture to know what it is.

Its red with the blood of the "killed" Dolphins. They are stabbed to dead by any iron rods, as a ritual. I ritual by the Danish, where by the Dolphins are stabbed in the usher spirit to prove that a "Boy" has matured to a "Man". If this is maturity, then what is in-maturity?

"Matured Men" Well, this is the greatest slap of insult in the name of maturity! The Dolphins come to the beach during the Spawning and mating season, but instead of creating life, they end their own life!

And there they Rejoice.

In the name of Humanity, I PROTEST this act. There has been a mail that is being circulated around, which I appreciate as a good awareness program. I you feel the above thought to be justified, please put in your note in the comment page and this "signature campaign" shall bear the witness of it's validity to what I protest!!!

I appreciate the courtesy of the taker of these pics... in the bid to increase awareness.

Winds of Change.

May be it's too early to comment. But looking at certain trends, it can well be put in that compared to last time, this time Trinamool Congress would be harvesting a much better yield. In 2004 election, after the communal tainted BJP (thanks to Ram Mandir, Ayodhya in 1993 and the Godhra Massacre in 2002, TMC could yield only 1 seat out of the 42 contested. With an alliance with BJP and a rift with Congress, the votes got distributed, making CPI-M victorious in various strongholds of TMC and Congress!
The breaking news at the moment is, Forward Bloc candidate for the election has taken one hand in revealing that it was CPI-M and more so, Chief Minister, Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya had ordered the police firing in 2007 over the protesting public mob at Nandigram. The massacre witnessed a massive uprising against the government with the public unrest against the state leadership and executive machinery. Forward Bloc is an associate of the Left Front, that had been ruling the state for past 32 years, a history in it's own accord, have revolted in the past regarding the Nandigram Issue. Click here for Report. The wounds and the blisters are fresh, and it was well utilized in the Panchyat elections of West bengal in 2008 by TMC and Congress that did show the rift in CPI-M votes, letting CPI-M lost 45% ground comapred to the 2003 Panchyat Election. TMC gained a whoping 57% in case of votes casted and the rest was gained by Congress!
The propositions:
1) On behalf of TMC and Congress : The 32 years of ruling by the Leftists had rendered them the feeling of being invincible. A complacency crept in their approach. Their "good" deeds has taken their shape from their hedonism. The Singur Car Factory of the Tatas, found it's ground upon the tears of many unwilling farmers. The government implemented laws to take the land for the factory. An attempt to improve industrial Bengal, which they had once strangulated by their regular strikes and worker Unions! Today, Bengal has 37, 219 factories (large and small scale) being closed. Darjeeling has hundreds of tea gardens where the spiders work day and night! A factory in Singur justifies those that are already dead! If you want to justify, please justify with justice behind your proposal and not the marinated and influenced amendments to do the needful for you! The Laxman Seth's (CPI-M) ultimatum regarding aquisition of land, without taking the consent of those whose land would be taken! The uprising of the poor villagers was supressed by firing on them and not in air! Nandigram came into the news, as another Jalianwala Bagh!
2) CPI-M demands TMC to be Naxalites and they want to stall the WB-bandwagon for progress! Mamata is depicted as a "bad girl" in the block, who is acts like a demon, eating up Bengal's development!

Enough! Its Enough!! Lets see what 16th May unfolds!

Whats Next?

Like the showman's show, this drama goes on...

Eleven months since the first turmoil broke out in Nadigram, Purba Medinipore District in the state of West Bengal, India, the pinnacle of the drama continues till date. Diwali and post Diwali, there was fire works in Nandigram.. the difference between the fire work was that it just didnt bring smile in the faces of the common... but tears in the eyes of the unknown struggler, whose name has just worn off in the days of eroding struggle. No doubt the Right of Property was transformed into a Stautory Right in the 44th Amendment of the Indian Constituition in 1977.

it states: "...the 44th amendment eliminated the right to hold, acquire and dispose of property..." Even if the property is to be safe guarded by the Law and order, as the article points out, the individual do enjoy the property as long as he or she wishes to. If thats not the law, then thats common sense.

Nandigram boiled since Haldia Development Corporation issued a summon of acquiring land for the Chemical Industry in near future. Fueled by the then going Singur Andolan, Mamata Banerjee took on the red clay roads of Nandigram, to shake the government. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, the Hon Chief Minister had acknowledged the mistake made, and assured that no land will be taken. But the TMC made Bhoomi Uchyed Rakha Committee kept the fire on. First it was in March when a nos of people went down due to police firing, then in September and more recently the CPI(M) goons fired at a strong peace rally, killing many people. Non-Co-operation movement and Bangla Bandhs may be a type of protest... but what is going on there, is really inhuman and undesired.

In their 30+ years on the throne, the West Bengal democracy has transformed into an able Dictatorship. This is not Lenin or Mao marches...its a goon and antisocial march. Whats the alternative for the governing party? Nothing, coz the opposition are really bad. But to succumb to the present scenario, its rightfully important that the situation must be overcome as soon as possible. If for that Military rule of President rule gets implemented, then let it be so!

There seems to be a planned machinery in the State of West Bengal. How dare we draw comparisons that we are better off than the Godhra Kand in Gujarat some couple of years ago? How can we say that we are better off in peace than the people in Bihar? The Bengali politics have gone down the gutters. Today, 14th November 2007, marked a new mode of protest when a lakh strong army of unarmed men and women, children and Indian Homo sapiens came onto the roads of Kolkata, in a silent rally to protest against the atrocities of the Government of West Bengal. This is the new light..a new beginning...may be..its no more confinedin the celluloids of the Silver Screen like the movies of the category of Phir Bhi Dil Hain Hindusthani, a Shahrukh Khan hit and the Anil Kapoor Hit in the form of Nayak. May be the humane Indians are back..hand in hand...

Bengal had been the root of Indian Rennaissance, may be its a new Rennaissance, the twenty first century one..lets welcome it all!!!

The Voice

Today, the state wide strike in West Bengal was nothing less than being successful. With Trinamool Congress ahead in their agitation, there surely have being some very bad incidences through the state. In the previous strikes, called by the same organisation on a similar issue, concerning the Tata Motor factories in Singur, WB, the situation was not so barren as it was today!

After the massacre at Nandigram, the Left Front meeting took place where the associated parties with the CPI(M) namely the Forward Block, RSP, CPI shruddered at one of the most illogical and mis strategical step taken by the Buddhadeb Bhattarcharya's government. The Union opposition led by BJP and the organisation of NDA has asked for a formal apology of the CM and also his resignation. And while this drama was setting in, Kolkata saw some pieces of violence in the 12 hours strike, from dawn to dusk. With the BDO office in Howrah ransacked and three buses being burnt in the Central hubs of the metro, the roads remained barren, and this is what I mentioned previously as difference between bandhs of yesterdays and today's!

Not a single person was seen to play on the open barren streets which is always the scenario in a state or city "Bandh". For the sake of humanity most of the people in the state supported the strike!

Picture taken on 24th December 2006. This was also a TMC "bandh" regarding Singur. But then, people did walk and some cars moved!!

There were some disadvantages like the State Board Examinations for Standard Twelve was cancelled and so was some National Board examinations, whose papers will be set specially for the State students sometime in April!

But still..the search goes on, as many children dont know for sure whether they are orphans or still have their loved ones praying for them! Still the villagers flea away from their homeland, just for the sake to live! The Right to Live have got violated, yet the government cant ensure the basic Fundamental Right, empowered by the Indian Constituition couldnt find its strong hold in Nandigram!
