Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam, President of India (present date), paid his profiled visit to the instituitional laboratories. Since morning It had been a run around with Sniffer Dog, and metal as well as nitro detectors!The situation looked very serious as the security was tightened up, and the normal people, who are just not accustomed with this typeof arrangement, were really flabbergasted. As per the schedule only 3 of the 10 research scholars would meet His Highness. The rest would be confined in a room, opposite to the room where the programme of the visit is scheduled to be made! (let me put in the fact that I am just a summer trainee at the lab)
The convoy came and so came the Z-Securities, the Black Cats. To our utter surprise,even before entering the designated lab, he saw our eager eyes peeping out from our cofinement and he reciprocated by waving at Us! We were really overwhelmed with Joy. After all before being a President he has one of the Top most Brains in the nation, and we the budding scientist respect him for that, added on being the President of India!
There was a little commotion as the staff and the present scientists were busy explaining him thingsand works in the lab. But later on it got revealed that he had explained them the works in genetics and made suggestions on further work and commitments! ( that shows beyond doubt that he is a Complete Scholar!)
As the time got over, everyone hurriedly left the room, when suddenly we saw in awe, a known figure coming towards us, in steady steps! It was the President. He wanted to meet us, the non scheduled candidates!!! And the he came in our so called "confinement", the lab. Whatever he said was preciosu suggestionson Gene Therapies and Stem Cell Technology, but, to me atleast, it was a honor meeting him infront, like anything else! Its as great as getting a noble for my work!
A very generous and well spoken man, who is not egoist and claims only and nothing else!
