The Political Mumbo Jumbo...

SUCI, a trade union wing of the Left Front* in India called on a strike or in other words, official bunking of office, in the wake of increased price hike of petrol and LPG. With the international market price going up, the government was induced to create a hike which, in the next few days was scheduled to go down in another small recession with the international market price. The party spokes person cites this as a common man's cause, but as it turns out, this Bandh fails to be a national issue, yet the issue of concern is prevalent issue nation wide. Then what can be the real issue, latent as it seems.
Lets discuss the platform on which this strike may be called on.

* they sometimes, refrain themselves from calling themselves as Leftists!

In West Bengal, the left front government has been in power for more than three decades which is a history by its ow capability. But the occurences in the last two or three years have had changed the scenario drastically. With the prominence of the Singur issue, followed by the Nandigram unrest, over industrialization and the tussle between the government and the opposition, mainly Trinamool Congress, the tables seem to have a much awaited torque. Since 2006, in whatever election that the State has gone through, CPI(M) led Left Front have fallen hollow in the hands of Trinamool, not comprehensively but prominently. So, in the wake of another election, the Lok Sabha, SUCI is judging its maternal party's strenghth in creating a pandemonium in the common man, over issues that has been solved a few days ago. But if you take my word, this has no effect over the common man, because the cars and the buses are on their wheels, rolling out perfectly. May be their numbers prying on the road is less, but they are omnipresent in the city. A blow in the face of the Union? May be they will take the cake with the numbers being less than normal, but being a common man, 22nd January is Bandh day, 23rd January is Netaji's birthday, a holiday in West Bengal, 24th is a Saturday and 25th is a Sunday. To have a cherry as the topping, 26th January is a National holiday on the auspicious occassion of 59th Republic Day. So five days of holidays and halfdays taken as a offday, any one can move outside the city for a small vacation in the suburbs! So, is there any good things to savor about people being less on the roads? I guess not!

Inquilab Zindabad goes off in the air, but with a different meaning. I guess most of the people who are airing this slogan have the guts to come forward and define the emaning of these two words!
